How to organise your application information
Start with your trip basics: who is travelling, the passport each person will use, where each traveller lives, the destination, the reason for travel and the intended dates. Keep those details consistent as you plan.
When an official authority provides a checklist for your category and place of residence, use that current checklist. Do not rely on a generic list from an unrelated country or applicant profile. Keep originals and copies in the format the authority requests.
Where to check official visa information
Look for the embassy, consulate, immigration department or official government visa portal responsible for your destination and country of residence. Confirm that the web address belongs to the relevant government. Third-party visa centres may handle appointments or document intake, but the government authority decides the application.
Check the source again before applying, because application steps, fees, appointment procedures and timelines can change.
Preparing for an application appointment
Read the latest appointment instructions, make a note of the time and location, and check what documents or confirmation pages you are asked to bring. Allow time for travel to the centre. Never purchase an appointment from an unofficial seller or treat a booking as a promise of approval.
Keep sensitive documents private
Do not place passport numbers, bank statements, account credentials or identity scans in an ordinary public enquiry. Share documents only through an agreed, appropriate channel after you understand who will receive them and how they will be used.
